Becoming Obsessively Christian

"If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to incriminate you? - Apostle Emmanuel Iren"

Two words have become a part of our vocabulary recently; "obsessively Christian." It stems from a deep desire for God to be seen in and through us in EVERYTHING that comes out of our mouths and in EVERYTHING we set out to do.
Colossians 3 vs 17 [AMP]
Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
That charge mentioned in the beginning of this post by Apostle Iren is so convicting. Are you identifiably Christian? And genuinely too! We don't mean eye service or maintaining a farce, a facade, pretending to be what you're not living out in your closet. That's disingenuous and if we ever get to that point, we need to humble ourselves and seek God's face for His mercy that redeems and draws us back to Him.
Scripture says in 1 John 2:6 [AMP] that "whoever says he lives in Christ [that is, whoever says he has accepted Him as God and Savior] ought [as a moral obligation] to walk and conduct himself just as He walked and conducted Himself." By definition, as Christians, we are called to live like Christ. Nigerians would say "carry Jesus on your head" meaning wear Him on your sleeve, be unashamedly Jesus first!
1 John 3 vs 6-7 [AMP]
6No one who abides in Him [who remains united in fellowship with Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him. 7Little children (believers, dear ones), do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who practices righteousness [the one who strives to live a consistently honorable life—in private as well as in public—and to conform to God’s precepts] is righteous, just as He is righteous.
The argument that we can be Christians and yet live different outwardly doesn't track. An analogy that illustrates this easily is if you go to the market and are trying to pick out a fruit, a good test of what would be good is how it looks. You would not pick out a fruit that looks rotten on the outside in the hopes that it is still good. When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior in our lives, we submit ourselves to Him
Galatians 2 vs 20 [AMP]
I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
So what?
More than ever, the world needs more Christians living out the fullness of their devotion and calling. Our gospel mandate is to go into all the world and preach the gospel and the reality is that people watch us. They see how we live and what we profess and if both are not aligned, then there's not much respected accorded when the pot calls the kettle black.
One of the ways we preach the gospel is by how we live.
